Who We Are

Who We Are

Our name says what we are all about–Jesus Christ. Through him, we have been reconciled to God and have inherited his kingdom. We have come from many different backgrounds, but what unites us is a common life centered on the one who saved us and gave us new life.

When we became followers of Jesus, we joined a long line of people from every nation who have given their lives to him. For more than 2000 years, people have been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and have taught us who God is and how to worship him. Their voices matter, so we listen to their voices.

God is not confined to a book or to church history. He is still speaking. We believe he meets us today when we gather. When he does that, he does all sorts of miracles. He turns ordinary people into his special community, hands into healing agents, and bread and wine into his real presence. He speaks directly to us and does miraculous things. He is constantly bringing heaven to earth, in our lives and in the life of our community.

Who we are as disciples of Jesus is expressed in our worship, communal life, and mission in the world:

  • We take worship seriously. We love worship that ushers in the presence of God and transforms our hearts so that we become converted to the will of God.
  • We seek to practice the radical values of the kingdom of God in our communal life. Our aim is to edify and build up one another as we encourage each other to use our God-given gifts.
  • We have a mission in the world. So we seek to love and serve others particularly the needy in our world through prayer, service, and testimony of what God has done for us.

We are now gathering in an organic, home setting, building one another up, as we prepare to launch a new contemporary service, by the Spirit of God’s strength and wisdom. We also worship in a traditional service that meets at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays at Yucaipa High School. We come to worship, learn about Jesus, and serve him in all areas of our lives.
