Healing Prayer
Much of Jesus earthly ministry was spent healing people. His disciples were sent out to heal as well (Mk 16:18, Luke 10:9) . As such it is not surprising that the church today is urged to engage in a ministry of healing: “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray…Is anyone sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” (James 5:13-15).
God is, of course, the one who heals, not us, but he has called his people to be instruments through which he brings healing. God wants to bring physical, emotional, and spiritual healing to our lives.
